Re: 2nd generation Canadian moving 'home'...

Thank you for your concern, Bermudashorts. I am now in the UK testing my budget. I can frugally get by on my pensions with a bit left over for pocket money. Whatever I earn beyond that will go...

Re: 2nd generation Canadian moving 'home'...

Thank you BritInParis.

I will definitely keep my self-employment records up-to-date and submit tax returns. I'm sure I will be well under the tax-free allowance. Most of my income will be from...

Re: The things you hear.

This is true. I'm Canadian and I can't get warm to save my life. And I've lived everywhere in Canada. Winters of -40 in Northwest Territories...in danger of freezing to death but not of shivering...

2nd generation Canadian moving 'home'...

Hello,

Technically I'm not a returning Brit but in my heart I am.

My paternal grandfather was born in West Derby, Lancashire which is a good thing for me 'cause I will now apply for a UK...

Re: Where have you/will you settle once back in UK?

Can a Canuck speak up here?

How is it possible to love a place so much it feels as though your heart will burst? I am 69 years old and have lived my life in Canada. I have never felt at 'home'...

Re: Hello everyone I'm back

Re: Oops, sorry!

Thank you BritInParis,

I looked at the Forum you mention but I think 'foreign nationals' are banned :(....only for returning Brits. I am looking into applying for a UK Ancestry Visa and wanted to...

So sorry,

I didn't read the rules before my last post. Shouldn't have asked a question. Can I start again please?

My name is Sydney and I live in Canada although I am on a 6 month visit to...

Question Where can I post my question?

Hello,

Is there a forum for 'foreign nationals' (I don't know why but I really don't like that term, maybe 'cause I see the Queen on all our money and postage stamps etc. and yet I'm 'foreign') to...
