Re: IELTS easy?

I scored pretty low in writing as well, like many others here are saying. I actually paid to have them re-asses the score since I'm a pretty confident writer. Then it magically went up two points...

Re: Anyone else in post AOR purgatory??

Moving things back to OP's question; yep I'm in a similar position. Received my AOR August 2019 and not heard much since. My estimated completion date on the portal did change from January 2021 to...

Entering on Train; apply for work permit?

Hihi. I'm planning to travel from Buffalo, NY to Toronto next week. Is it possible to apply for a work permit at Canadian immigration when taking the train through if I have all my paperwork? I...

TWP Extension questions

Hi there.

I have a work permit which expired back in April. Before it did, I applied for a change in status and was issued a Visitor Record. Then in May, I received a Work Permit support letter to...

Re: Work permit expiring; PNP Processing

No ITA yet, no.

Ok that's interesting to note about the LMIA. I will check with my employer tomorrow.

Would another option be to just apply for visitor status and not work until I get the...

Re: Work permit expiring; PNP Processing

My mistake!

Could I potentially submit my PR app right away and apply for the BOWP now? Then add the nomination letter after. My TWP hasn't expired just yet - it still has a few days on...

Re: Work permit expiring; PNP Processing

Damn, okay. I guess by you saying "could of" that the BOWP option is too late for me?

Yeah, it was a TWP w/ LMIA and I applied for OINP at the start January.

Work permit expiring; PNP Processing

Hey folks. I'm in a bit of a jam and need advice.

My Ontario PNP application has taken longer than anticipated and has been the "Decision in Progress" stage for a while now. My work permit is due...

PNP and LMIA Confusion

Hi folks.

So I'm planning on applying for PR through Ontario PNP and have a bit of a concern. I am currently on a TWP for the same employer who plans to support my PNP application. I'm wondering...

Left Canada without my work permit...

Hi folks. I need some help because I'm a moron and am freaking out a little. I'm currently on an IEC permit and have just arrived in the UK for a vacation. Now that I've touched down, I just realised...

Re: TFW and LMIA Question

Ah, you're right. I probably just phrased the dual intent thing awkwardly.

I just caught up on the Wiki page and that all looks good. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. One further...

Re: TFW and LMIA Question

"Dual Intent" is just some of the phrasing they use when you have both the temporary visa from the LMIA and also have a PR application. You intend to be in Canada both temporarily and permanently at...

TFW and LMIA Question

Hi folks. Apologies for another simplistic question - I've been trowelling the CIC website for yonks and my frustration is beginning to bare.

So I am currently in Canada under IEC. I am due to get...

Quick LMIA question

Hi folks,

Just a quick and easy one for you. I am eligible to apply for PR under FSWP once I have completed a year at my current job (skill level B). I'm currently on an IEC visa. My employers are...

Re: Learning and getting started - considering a move to Canada

Assuming you'll get full marks on the IELTS just because you're native speakers is a little dangerous, IMO. You should absolutely do some prep online first. But just for the sake of calculating how...

Re: Job research before applying for IEC

I'd advise starting a dialogue over applying directly to jobs. You can expect to be dismissed pretty quickly if there's not a Canadian address at the top of your resume. But it doesn't hurt to try.

Anyone have a good answer to this? I'm planning a trip back to the UK and planned to use TransferWise to send some money to my UK account, but just discovered that CAD to GBP isn't supported....

Re: IEC 2015

I've had my LoI through and my itinerary was really vague. It was basically a word document with rough dates ("some time between April X - May X") bullet pointed, and where I'd possibly be flying...

Re: IEC 2015

Hey George. Everyone in this thread is talking about the IEC visa; the two year working holiday program. I'm not a PR and haven't filled out an express entry profile, I'm afraid.

Re: IEC 2015

I had this error and realised later it was caused by me having the document open. Close out of it and try uploading again. If it still doesn't work I'd suggest using a different browser.

Re: IEC 2015

Went from using a Visa Debit card to a Mastercard credit card and it worked. Doesn't like some card types, it seems. :(
