Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

'That's not much of a chuffing SOS is it?' Remember when Dave said that as they are balancing on the car in the canal and Gaz is nodding his head to the man walking by with his dog? I thought that...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

There are a couple of movies that remind me of home. The first is How Green is My Valley and the second, The Full Monty. So different but yet bringing back familiar memories of England. Any time...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

Sometimes we got a hot water bottle if we pleaded with our mother for them (sometimes she gave in). It was a cold day in hell when we did get them. I froze my xxx off many many nights. These days...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

I remember the ice on the inside of the windows too. Steel frames with a thin pane of glass. Council house estates were everywhere. Coal fire, downstairs only, and you'd freeze your rear end off...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

My dad was a miner at Houghton Main Colliery. I think my grandfather may have worked there at some point but don't recall if they ever worked together at the same pit. What a horrible and dangerous...

Re: Any Brits near Calabasas,ca?

Sally,

I didn't get it - probably because of the pop-up blockers on my Google Chrome. Would you mind resending please?

Many thanks.

Re: Any Brits near Calabasas,ca?

Hi all,
About Calabasas. It may surprise some folks to know that not everyone in Calabasas is filthy rich. You've got to make room for the middle and working class peons somewhere you know. I...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

Fish and chips. Hmmmmm. It's terrible. I haven't found any place around here who can actually make good fish and chips. Wow, I miss that more than just about anything else ( or maybe a good...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

Hiya,

I was born in Wombwell (near Barnsley) and lived there until I joined the WRAF after leaving school. Having been gone for so long, my memories of my old 'stomping grounds' have faded...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

I'm from South Yorkshire and I've been here for 40 years. Still enjoy talking with my fellow countrymen/women and look forward to hearing from anyone out there who comes from the U.K.

Are there any Brits in southern California, Ventura County area?

I'm retired and live in Moorpark, California.

I'd love to network with other Brits in my area, or other areas. My family is in the U.K. and I don't have much interaction with fellow Brits. I...

Red face Re: Any meet up groups near Agoura/TO?

Hiya,
I've never heard of any Brit groups around the T.O. area. I live in Moorpark which is about 12 miles from T.O. It would be nice to have a place to meet and get to know other Brits.
I've...

Re: Who is from Yorkshire?

I'm from South Yorkshire originally - and was there until I joined the Air Force at the age of 18. After that lived in other parts of England and eventually left for the U.S. ending up initially in...

Re: Any Brits near Calabasas,ca?

Hello,
I lived in the valley for many years, worked in Calabasas at the Motion Picture Hospital, and eventually moved northwest to Agoura Hills and then Moorpark.
Moorpark is about 20+ miles from...
