There are always jobs in Sweden to be had, but whether they are what he will want to do, is another thing entirely. It certainly helps to speak the language. I moved back to Sweden in the summer...

How about going by public transport? Although also quite costly (everything is here), it might be cheaper than buying a car. Plus it is wide-spread and easily accessible!

I would definitely think about buying a car - the ferries are pretty good (we usually go from Immingham to Gothenburg). Remember to visit beautiful (and sometimes overlooked) southern Sweden!:p
