Re: Best places in Bay Area to live for working in Foster City

Vote here for Redwood city and San Carlos too. Worked for a company in Redwood city for a year and saw a lot of growth in the city. Stepping over to San Carlos is OK, and there are options there too,...

Submitted mine in Sept 2015 and waited and waited.... nothing.... then suddenly in Feb 2016, they popped through in the post. Odd, strange and no warning (even though signed up for email change of...

Re: Teeth, teenagers, braces

I got comments both ways - I had UK dentists saying that US ones were bad, expensive and slapdash. And I had US ones saying that the work that UK ones did weren't good. Hard to say which one is right...

Re: Originl Birth Certificate

Late to the comments here, but I needed this for my GC and used the GRO for it - proved to be fast, efficient and yes, when they say next day, delivery to the US took a little longer than that, but...

Re: Pet transport companies

Back in 2014, we used PetAirUK and they were great. Handled the whole process brilliantly and really looked after our rather large dog. I would recommend them, expensive, but worth it.

Re: California bound - April 2017

And just for clarity, at no point did I say that you can just buy any old phone in the UK and expect it to work on Verizon. A lot of GSM based phones from Europe will work on the GSM based networks...

Re: California bound - April 2017

As I mentioned, the big issue is around Verizon (Sprint) network - since it uses a different network that is not available in Europe. But if you have a normal GSM / LTE phone in Europe, you are...

Re: Affordable Care Act (obamacare)

My wife works for a company that pools resources for smaller businesses to get better benefits for employees - like healthcare and ACA in particular.

Have to say that having seen the other end of...

Re: California bound - April 2017

Cars - you can lease and already mentioned there are a few options. If you look to buy, be warned that the dealerships will stitch up on interest rates, which will drastically reduce your budgets....

Re: Crime risk

I will admit that I live in a pretty expensive area and the crime rate is low. This is a safe city, but its all relative and there is still crime. We have had a few bank robberies and it seems that...

Not a recommendation but Geico have been OK for me. Not the cheapest, but coverage seems OK and customer service is good (unlike most of my UK insurance companies!). But, what I am realizing is that...
