Re: I-130 proof of UK residence for USC

I'm not too sure about proving your residency in this case, but I can tell you that USCIS in London DOES NOT want you to send in any extraneous documents when you submit the I-130. The checklist here...

Re: Medical without interview date

Ah, sorry, my mistake. Yes London did have his case. Like others have said, I would reschedule the medical for after London receives your case; it's not worth the risk of things going missing.

Re: Medical without interview date

My husband booked and had his medical before submitting the Notification of Applicant Readiness form and things turned out just fine.

The CEAC status JUST changed to 'Ready' and lists today's date as a status update date. Looks like he'll be getting his visa quite soon! :D

Re: "Your case is currently under review." What does this mean in layman's terms?

Ah it's said admin processing since the day of his interview, so I guess all I can do is sit back, breathe, and try to focus on something else.

Re: "Your case is currently under review." What does this mean in layman's terms?

Thank you so much, everybody. You'd think that if he was subject to additional administrative processing they'd e-mail about it, no?

"Your case is currently under review." What does this mean in layman's terms?

Re: Immigrant Visa (DCF: I-130 Filed in London) - Timeline Only!

21st January 2014: Interview in London. His HK Police Cert hadn't arrived yet so they put his case on "Administrative Processing" until they receive it. Everything else went smoothly, though! :D

Re: Postgrad student who has been in the UK longer than 6 months, visa expires in Jan

Also, I don't know why I didn't ask this earlier: I'm under the general impression that if London wants you to file via Chicago, they'll send back your application and not issue the mythical...

Re: Cancelling a petition and going through DCF instead?

I know this is a super stressful time and that the thought of being separated from your significant other for up to a year is horrible (trust me, I cried a few times over the possibility), but...

Re: Photos for Interview

If you can find one of those "Photo-me" photo-taking booths (we found one in a shopping centre), you should be set: they do 2x2 US visa photos which are up to passport standards.

I-864 mumbo jumbo/questions

First off, a big thank you to everyone on this forum. You're all stars. I know it's probably a bit early for me to be tackling the I-864 (just submitting our I-130 this week), but I'd prefer to have...

Re: Postgrad student who has been in the UK longer than 6 months, visa expires in Jan

Re: Postgrad student who has been in the UK longer than 6 months, visa expires in Jan

D'oh! I posted that when half-asleep and should've put DCF.

That's what I was thinking, but I have a tendency to psych myself out (not the best thing when filling out forms)! :o

Last question, I promise! (Concerns G-325a)

There is a section on the G-325a form which asks me to list the "applicant's last address outside the United States of more than 1 year."
I am living and have lived outside of the US for more than...

Re: Postgrad student who has been in the UK longer than 6 months, visa expires in Jan

Thank you both SO much. I guess I'll apply via London. One more question: I went in and out of the UK on a short holiday in May. What are the chances of them saying I don't meet the requirements...
