It will be base for a period of time to get the feel for the area whilst not paying a fortune in rent. If they wish to they can spend more in rent and get a better property of course. Hopefully they...

You could make do with that wage in waiuku as I stated before. travelling to Manakau will be ok.

Have a look around Waiuku if you want cheaper rent. It is a good place to raise your children and has a lot of sporting facilities. Not sure of the drive time in peak hour, should take around 30 mins...

Not sure of bus travelling times but I would look at getting the train from Glen Eden or New Lynn. Titirangi Primary is quite a good school. You can walk around the village and surrounding areas Ok...

A few people do it you just have to get up a bit earlier that's all or get a motorbike :D. It is a great place to raise a family amazing facilities for such a small place. Hope to get some land out...

Look around Pukekohe and surrounding areas.

I will mention my favourite place Waiuku which is prob a bit to far out for you tho.

The motel usually arrange that for you they should also have details for bus trips as well. I went on a shopping trip to Ontario mills mall via the motel I was staying at.

The car park fills up quickly at Glen Eden train station so you need to get in early. I believe the other car parks are time limited.

There will be traffic issues by the roundabout in Titirangi so...

Auckland will better for the amount of jobs. You will need to work out the pro's vs cons.
Higher accommodation costs in Akl but better weather and beaches etc.
Wellington should still be fine for...
