Is this indoor or outdoor? I'm looking for an indoor one and would like some recommendations if anyone has one?

Re: Prohibited items - baby/children's goods

Babywalkers are banned. Can't be bought, sold or imported for personal use. Other than that I wouldn't worry about the other things. They aren't going to check that the car seat has the appropriate...

Re: Fastest Internet in Ottawa?

My experience with Distributel:
Set up installation for November 4th as I was moving into my apartment on the 1st. A week before I moved in, the modem was delivered to the new address even though I...

Re: Fastest Internet in Ottawa?

Internet plans are horrendous in Canada. Bell Fibe has decent speeds but their usage limits are low. 100gb= upload and download. So it's basically fast internet for checking email. Forget netflix or...

Re: Single parent sister visiting

It depends on the country and their stance with the international treaty on child abduction. Some countries haven't signed the treaty and others aren't so strict when it's their own (i.e. French...

Re: Single parent sister visiting

I think so. The US and Canada are very strict in regards to this. They will ask where the father is and if she says they are divorced they will ask to see documentation.

Re: 2 and a half years later, and the Canadian dream is over - so what would I change

The problem is that most people are putting 10% down on a house and carrying a large mortgage. You're not getting any return on your "investment" for at least 5 years. Putting all your money into a...

Re: 2 and a half years later, and the Canadian dream is over - so what would I change

5.-this is true for all people not just immigrants. So many people buy too much house that they can't afford to do anything fun. Buy the cheapest house in the best neighbourhood you can afford. If...

Re: X Box 360: UK to Canada

The console can be updated to the newest version but some games are region specific for updates and DLC. I myself use a Japanese console but all my games are for the US/Canadian market. I don't have...

Re: X Box 360: UK to Canada

Is it region locked? I read it wasn't (except for Japan). The DLC is locked though.

Re: X Box 360: UK to Canada

Expect to spend from $50 to $60. It's better than buying a used 360 because of potential rrod problems. Having a power converter is always good to have just in case as well.

Re: X Box 360: UK to Canada

Most games are not region locked for Xbox 360. It's up to the developers to decide and most don't region lock them.

To OP: bring the console and buy a power converter for it.

Re: whats the food like in canada?

That's mainly why the US breweries exploded. Generic tasting mass produced beer left so many people wanting more. The main thing hampering Canada (especially Ontario) is the stupid liquor laws. I'm...

Re: Cottage country

Agreed. Growing up I knew a few families who had their own cottages but they were always basic and they went almost weekly during the summer months so the cost performance was decent. If you only go...

Re: whats the food like in canada?

The craft beer scene is the US is years ahead of Canada (and the rest of the world really) but BC has some really good brewers and are making strides. The east coast is also gaining ground. If you...

Re: Cottage country

It's quite common for average Canadians to head to the cottage. Some people own one and others rent. A lot of times you go with other families or friends, especially May 2-4 weekend and Labour Day...

Boil them (if frozen) and then fry them with melted butter and cut up bacon. Put some sour cream on them and enjoy with cabbage rolls and kielbasa.

Re: Our story... Stay

Get out of the city. Nature, slow pace of life, quietness and space is what Canada offers. Alternatively you can leave. If you truly don't like it then that's the best. One person can't change an...

Good point. But what about the grossly obese people in both countries?

Japan for example has a higher rate of diabetes than the UK but doesn't have the obesity problem so I'd still argue what...

Re: whats the food like in canada?

This reminds me of the good old days back in the late 90's/early 2000's when so many Canadians were buying Direct tv equipment in the US then using the gray area in the laws to watch free American...
