Yeah, most expats where I live (Aussies, Americans, Canadians etc.) have to go to their embassy and get their marriages recognised. Even then, it seems in England, this doesnt count because you still...

i have had many replies yes, i am also new to this and as of a few days ago, only knew about the marriage requirements of the country im currently living in. I had no idea it would be so complicated....

have a look on the net, look for the cotswolds; exeter, bath/bristol, wales, devon, dartmoor, the new forest, newquey (sp?), cornwall.

We'll be planning on leaving the uk sometime this year because we're only coming temporarily. We would hold a return ticket from our country of departure (ROK).

Its getting ridiculous. It seems like the government were trying to prevent foreigners from entering on fake marriages, but now were all getting the brunt of it :confused:

not the best topic for a first thread...

I moved out of England around 4.5 years ago. I had some trouble transferring funds to cover an over draft and im sure it must have effected my credit...
