Re: LPR to Citizenship for kids too?

Sorry JAJ but you are absolutely wrong. It is NOT necessary to file an N-600. Once you become a US citizen any child under the age of 18 automatically becomes a citizen and to get them a passport...

Re: Applying for UK citizenship of born in USA

Thank you, nice clarification, captures it all in a nutshell.

Yes, I realized my throwaway comment about marrying a Brit was less than accurate. Anyway, who'd marry a Brit?

Calm down, just...

Re: LPR to Citizenship for kids too?

Yes, I don't really know how things work if you have no passport and no certificate. Surely there is a database they can reference? A regular citizen has a BC (supposedly, assuming they get one if...

Re: LPR to Citizenship for kids too?

Yes, US nationals, but you're being pedantic surely. The question is do you need to spend good money on an N600 for your under 18 kids and the answer is unequivocally no. It might give you a warm...

Re: UK state pension and USA social security

Nun,

Sorry, I did not miss the "only" but I did create that impression in my phrasing. My mistake.

However, I still maintain that since SS is calculated using your SS wages and your...

Re: LPR to Citizenship for kids too?

They definitely do not need an N-600. It is a waste of $600 (each!). Just get them a passport using your citizenship certificate as evidence. Also, if you become a citizen before their 18th birthday...

Re: Downsides of Green Card?

Well there is a problem of course. On an L1 if you lose your job you're on your way home! Also, it is years ago now, but when i was on an L1 it was for 3 years with one 2 year extension allowed, so a...

Re: How can my kids prove citizenship?

I don't understand. You say you are a Swedish citizen and an EU citizen. Not as a Swede you're not. Sweden is not a member of the EEC. If you are an EEC citizen it must be as another nationality...

Re: Applying for UK citizenship of born in USA

Legitimacy as far as the uk is concerned is irrelevant. My daughter was born abroad (not the US, but where doesn't matter) to a foreign mother before we were married and the embassy issued both a...

Re: UK state pension and USA social security

Nun,

Actually, it DOES depend on the amount you've contributed, by extension. Simply put, your SS contributions are a percentage (the going rate, just changed for both employee and employer) of...
