I read that if you buy a property worth 500,000 Euros you get automatic Spanish Citizenship/passport.

True?

Also what's the story on illegal selling? Does this mean you buy and you don't...

Re: The best place to retire in Spain

What a strange post.

Obviously when one is planning to go somewhere to live/retire you gather information. Part of that process is people's opinions.

Re: retiring in the USA

We are tough.

Good to see it's visa versa.

Maybe a quick swim across the river from Mexico might be quicker.

Byron Bay or Noosa? (to retire)

I like the green attitude of Byron but it's just a little one dimensional coastal town. No place over looking the water to have a drink and i suspect one would get bored quickly.

Noosa is far...

Re: Cost of Living in Australia

So you have to have a job to live in Aus?

What if you want to retire?

What happens to your super? Does that go up at the same rate as salaries?

No.

Re: retiring in the USA

Is buying a house for say $500,000 considered an investment?

If not I believe you have to invest in a business worth that amount.

Also how much is medical cover a year in the US?

Re: Getting old in Asia

You need to tell your friend she is a thief. Stealing money from the Australian govt and ruining it for Australians who want to live in Aus who genuinely need a disability benefit .

Re: Cost of Living in Australia

People are saying it's now the most expensive place in the world to live.

What are the Australian people doing about it?

Zilch.

I won't be moving back.

Can't afford it.

Panama

Everyone says it's one of the best places to retire.

I'm interested in the real estate costs, the weather and the beaches near Panama City.
