Re: How much did you pay for your medical procedure?

Since you're in Northern California, can I assume you have Kaiser? My employer offers this also, as does my husband's employer, but the terms, for either of us, are nowhere near as good as yours. I...

Re: How much did you pay for your medical procedure?

Thanks for all your replies. My husband's employer has an open enrollment coming up in June so we'll have to re-evaluate all our options. I have a PPO also (Aetna) but compared to the Kaiser HMO my...

Question Re: How much did you pay for your medical procedure?

From reading all of these posts it seems my husband's coverage is rubbish. He had a fainting spell (first time ever) when we were out one Saturday night a few weeks ago and became so ill I called...

Re: San Fran..

I can't stand it any longer. I actually live here and I have never heard anyone say 'San Fran'. It's a horrible expression. It's like saying you live in Mode or work in Sacra. Why are people so lazy...

Re: Baseball

Is that like 'runing the bases'? They had that at the AT&T Park last Sunday. I think you are just free to walk or jog round the bases as the park is open to the public. But I haven't tried it myself...

Re: Baseball

I was hoping someone would start a thread about the new baseball season! Baseball has really grown on me over the years, mainly as a result of my husband's love for the Giants (even though he's...

Re: Question on Foreign Earned Income Exclusion

Hi rebs, I don't know if you've seen any of my recent posts about this but I've spent a long time studying all the IRS publications relevant to this topic. Unfortunately, I am not an attorney and...

Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

Actually, we would still owe tax even after using tax credits, because we could not deduct all of it, even though our UK tax rate was higher than the US tax rate. You're right, it is very complicated...

Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

Yes, I believe so. I actually used TaxACT to do my returns, and the software generated the federal form 1040 and the California form 540NR. I was prompted to select either the full residency or...

Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

To rew1000: yes, that's how I'm starting to feel. I have been reading various IRS publications and websites with advice for so long and I have done the calculations about 20 times over now, that I...

Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

Thanks for all the replies. I apologise in advance for a very long post but this is a very convoluted issue.

What I think I have worked out so far is that you are indeed double-taxed for income...

Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

Thanks for taking the time, bippy. Perhaps it's something to do with being a new user? I can see you only have one post so far. Would you be so kind and post your reply again?

Many thanks.

Question Re: Foreign earned income exclusion - federal and CA

I'm disappointed to see that no one has come back with a reply yet, especially as I find it hard to believe that people on this forum have not experienced a similar situation. Perhaps everyone is...
