The retention that you refer to is not Plusvalia tax,which I believe is nothing to do with the Hacienda.

Those comments about the agent do not apply. All he did was advise my freind that his house sale would be subject to Plusvalia tax and he did an estimate based on the rateable value of the property...

Don't know why the estate agent advised but he did. So you are saying he does not need to pay this tax,not even to pay it and claim it back later.

A friend of mine has just sold his house (in Menorca ) and he has been advised by his estate agent that he will have to pay 6000 euro Plusvalia tax despite the fact that they have sold their house...

My accountant confirmed with the Hacienda in Madrid that the full ammount of the annuity now has to be declared.

Hello, I have been told that when submitting returns for tax year 2015 that the Hacienda no longer recognises Renta Vitalicia whereby you only had to declare 25% of an annuity.

Thanks for reply normaneddy.I hope you are right. We have asked 3 different accountants here in Menorca and none of them are sure. They don't even know what ISA'S and Premium Bonds are.

You can have UK ISA's as long as you do not add to them once you become resident in Spain.

Hello, Both are registered in my name but at my sisters address in the Uk.
Any thoughts on whether I should declare or not . I would would rather declare as long as I dont get the big fine.
