Thanks for all the feedback.

and just to add her conviction sentence is stated on the ACPO as

Disposal - imprisonment 6 months wholly, suspended for 2 years
Compensation £500.00

She did declare it on the forms you had to fill in...at the time she was a single mother travelling with 2 young daughters and there was no ESTA..
I know things are alot different now since 9/11
...

would they not take into account that she travelled to the USA previously... 3yrs after the conviction and has had a clean record since.
