Yes the 887 was pretty straightforward. We applied online, scanned all our docs and uploaded them. If you scan colour docs they don't need to be certified, if they are black & white then...

On saturday morning I opened an email from Brisbane Processing Centre.

I said they had made a decision to grant our 887 visa.

Which of course now means we are permanent residents :thumbsup:

On the whole our 2 years have been good. We've had a few problems with our house build but now we are in the house things are really good.

It took me 3 months to find work which was frustrating...

Yes we did apply online but haven't heard much yet.

We had an email shortly after we applied to say that the processing is now being done in Brisbane.

We used them and although we didn't have to claim we felt the service was great.

One good thing was that they covered us for the first week in Oz so gave us chance to sort out our own contents...

Stamp duty varies from state to state.

The bad news is that South Australia has the highest. However if you build yourself then you only pay Stamp Duty on the land purchase and not the house...

When we came to OZ we flew via the states.

We had a 2 1/2 week holiday in Florida with family before heading onto OZ.

One the the plus's for us was the luggage allowance. I think it has changed...

Yes very warm here at the moment, 6.30pm and 32 degrees.

I don't know what the situation with the TRA is know but when I did mine I used work experience as I didn't have any qualifications....

Things are good here.

With regards the Graphic Design I would be weary of listing it as they might class you as a Graphic Designer and not Pre Press.
