The first four were leased back in 2000, but my information was that they were bought outright at the end of that lease period, given Airbus's A400M "issues"...

Stranger still, part of the air transport for the French troops is being handled by the RAF - a pair of C-17s. French troops being flown by British crews on American transport aircraft!
