Well clearly if you cant survive on 50k(31k pounds) with family of 5 in calgary it is hugely more expensive then the UK .You take that 31k pounds is 600 pounds gross UK is a descent wage in the uk...

Under the IEC each person is required to have "there own status" so yes but as seperate applications i believe (feel free to correct me ?).I must also apply for study permits for the school going...

True I wont be earning that much but the 3200 i quoted will be the very min we will earn i figure its best to do figures in worst case scenario .As i said were just considering all the options right...

Calgary may not be Ireland but I'm going on many peoples views on this forum that the cost of living in Canada is comparable to that of the UK which isn't all that different to Ireland .

That income i would expect to be from both of us working ,wife working maybe 20 hours a week in evenings so it would actually be around 3200 combined ?

They look lovely and in some places even better than a lot of private rentals and i can't see how "undesirables" could afford to pay 1000-1200pm and some Utility bills on top ??

I will not be heading over until I receive my IEC visa providing that goes through ok ,judging by the timelines posted here it will take about 8 week so im looking at going alone first end feb early...
