It seems like temporary EADs don't even exist anymore. Do you think there woud be any benefit to me making an appointment to go in person and speak to someone directly?

No I haven't even had the biometric appt? Thats why I called at the 90 day point and was incorrectly told about the temporary EAD - I was literally expecting it in the post.
