Thank you for your replies, hairdressing isn't on the skilled shortage list anymore. I should be able to get state sponsorship but then you don't get a choice where you can live do you. But I may do...

Yes he could support himself no problems without working. He's over 30 so can't get a working holiday visa.

The thing is I haven't had a previous landlord as haven't rented before.
