Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

Thank you so much.

The fact that I'm saving every penny I get (I haven't spent any of my own money since 2005 - I don't go to the cinema or anything like that) is testament, I think, to how much I...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

I believe my mother has a number of documented qualifications from her technical college which have allowed her to apply - and successfully get - the administrative positions she has filled over the...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

Yes, I am told it is very expensive. It's true that the degree lengths are longer, but don't worry - I'm saving, and so are my parents! :)
Thank you ever so much for the advice!

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

Yes, they have both completed high school education, but since it was so long ago I would need to check if they still had proof.

If they don't have the right kind of proof, would my father be...

Hi Ellenofellen,

I just found the documents I needed to calculate winning chances! They are here (http://travel.state.gov/pdf/DV_Applicant_Entrants_by_Country_2007-2013.pdf) and here...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

LOL. Thought so.

By the way, I just noticed you said "your parents have an entry each". Does this mean we can enter twice? As you can imagine, I am very paranoid about entering us more times than...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

Yes, that's what I was trying to imply. It is our only path so far. Thanks for wishing me luck, and we will surely be applying!

I know of people who hire professionals to fill out their forms for...

Hi Fatbrit.

I am not applying myself. If we go, the whole family will be going. As for the chargeable country issue, I believe you are confusing this...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

If I don't get in with my family, of course I will be applying for a student visa and, as the story goes, obtaining a degree in the US before moving on to hopefully...

Re: Possible immigrant in need of all the help he can get!

Thanks for all of your responses. It is my own long-term goal to immigrate to the US (which might be more achievable). I don't think anyone will change my mind on that.

With moving to other parts...
