Congrats on the news, however if you are applying for a similar visa as myself (skilled migration) then you, and all concerned, have to nake an initial entry into Aus within 12 months of visa issue,...

Cool we should be ok then, and yes they do weigh the handluggage not at the checking in desk but when going through customs before going to the gate. 7 kg max.

We're in a similar boat here..got our visas granted in July and have had the house on the market since August. Did sell it once but it fell through. A very frustrating time , what with the kids...
