trouble is I cant see where it leads to as its in the bedroom which was incidentally an additional add on by the previous owners so only about 10 year ago, and the walls are cladded outside with wood...

no not a french Aeriel just a socket in the wall that requires fitting with an indoor Aeriel that will go into a french Aeriel socket so that one end fits into my UK tv and the other the french...
