Thank you for your replies.

This is a counselling MSc, hence the 'workplace' experience. I submitted an enquiry while I was in the US, earlier this to a local University to my friends and family,...

Back again after a break.

I have been invited to apply for a place at a University in the US. Assuming (big if, but always the optimist) that I am successful, can someone tell me...

Re: Nearly forgot this bit!

Thank you, Indianfriend, and Rosemary. As I had already guessed, the more I look into this, the more impossible it becomes. SWMBO, is still determined with her all or nothing stance, tonight. TBH, I...

Re: Nearly forgot this bit!

Re: Increasing chances of living/working in US

Nope, my wife says that if its a move to the US, it's all or nothing - not living both in the US and UK (six months on, six months off) Maybe I can talk her around (difficult!). We have done the sums...

Re: Increasing chances of living/working in US

I hear where you are coming from. Even having an extended holiday in the UK, and everything seems different.
Six months a year I'd be more than happy to do, but SWMBO says no!!!

Re: Nearly forgot this bit!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, indeed a holiday home would be an option I'd be happy with, six months a time, isn't it (?), but SWMBO says all or nothing!

Re: Increasing chances of living/working in US

Thanks again - what qualifications I have I reckon I will have to brush up, or improve, and I am already pursing doing this in the UK, with a view to a placement. One thing I have been told is that...

Re: Increasing chances of living/working in US

Thanks for your kind replies. I should have made it clear that I do have a Batchelors degree with honours - and my University is a world leader and respected in my field - which is why I went there....

Nearly forgot this bit!

Greetings from Bristol UK.
Ideally, would love to move to the US, although I know this is never going to happen due to the oh-so-difficult green card, but I'll never give in.

Kind of forced in...

This is my first post, after lerking on the forum for a while, so please be gentle. I am 50 this year - my wife, 61. Yes, a toy boy.

My wife and I have been going over annually for many years,...
