Thanks for the info, this way is defiantly quickest for obtaining licence, but not if your looking to stay in WA, i have read a few story's on this of electricians doing the course you talk about and...

Als I am hearing lots of storys about british and irish electricians in sydney etc on working holiday visas and getting sponsored with no artc etc... Surely there must be loop holes??

I just got off the phone too Energy safety, they told me too upgrade too a mechanical I have too sit the fitters course which is similar to the ETL, after completion I get the grade A fitters...

Skill shortages also have a office based in Perth. Apparently if you go through them, they help to get you set up with a employer that is willing to sponsor.

The reason I didn't do AM2 after becoming qualified incase your wondering was because I worked for a Irish company. So I didn't need to be JIB registered.

The reason I never did my AM2 was because after my apprenticeship I worked for a company in Ireland so it didn't make a difference if I was JIB registered.

Hogster am on the same boat as you, only am going august on a whv.
On this forum a few mgs a guy says you cant gain a artc untill you arrive in Austraila because you have to show your passport...
