haha good point, on that note my grand father was a very good mason without papers when he finished fighting the war, but this is going off the original point of my post, i have nothing against dutch...

do you mean he worked as a handy man? because you cant work as a carpenter/joiner in the uk without proving you have the relevant qualifications, my post was regarding dutch not british, anyways...

ok, well there is also the economic factor that tax payers have payed to put skilled craftsmen through higher education, and some of them are not working because they are being seriously undercut on...

what can i say? i can write an essay to your reply if you like, but to cut a long story short there's a massive difference what a ''self taught wood worker'' calls good to a ''craftsmans''...

i think you have to pay tax for at least 3 months or maybe even 6 before you get any help/benefits, if they have a nest egg behind them i`d say go for it, but if they are soley relying on...
