Its is quite normal to see men loading up water from roadside drinking fountains. They are sometimes mechanised where you pay 5 cents for a litre.(still or sparkling) I suspect restaurants are using...

Never ask for tap water in an Italian restaurant. It will end up costing you €3000.

You have to be cautious with tax declarations. I was just fined €1300 by the Italian tax authorities for trivial mistakes on a 2021 declaration. I wonder if the French tax authorities are more...

We have a super El Nino this year. You might need some air conditioning in August. Sicily holds the European record temperature of 49C from August 2021.

Verification was done using the mobile phone. They scanned my passport and then took my photo using their App.

I always found the people in the local branch of the Skipton very good.
I had a problem with NS&I and they weren't very helpful. Dealing with people living abroad takes them out of their comfort...

Your friend must have found a magical train. Trains from Bari to Napoli take ftom 4hours to 7.5hours.And that is assuming that they are running on time.

I think North Sea oil and privatization produced a wealthy feeling in the 80s and 90s. Both the UK and Italy are in economic decline and living by printing money.

The best thing would be to rent somewhere and see how you like it. I suspect Puglia might not be much warmer than London in the winter. Places that are dependent on tourism can be completely deserted...

You dont. Just travel on your Italian passport with an ETA.

You can enter Italy with your ID card. You can travel to a lot of countries just with an ID card.
