Taking my cats with me on holiday to Houston from Scotland

I will be visiting friends in Houston for 8-10wks and want to bring my cats with me from Scotland. Can I do that on a visitors visa?

Has anyone else had experience of applying for H1 VISA without equivalent of US Bachelor's Degree?
OH only has experience in work place no university qualifications.
His line of work is logistics.

At last we know what type of visa. It's a H1 so I'm an H4!
OH spoke to American embassy in London and got a very helpful Scottish girl who explained things to him.
Believe it can take up to 90 days...

Thank Weeze. Wow. Guess if we want to drive we have to do it. Been driving a long time now and never thought we'd have to sit tests.
Do we have to apply for SSN?
Suppose if I'm not able to work...

Thanks Brat1. Waiting to hear what type of visa we will be coming over on. Sounds like work may not be an option for me!

We will be classed as resident aliens and reading various sites I guess that is a H1B visa, am I correct?
For me to work does that mean I need someone to sponser me?:confused:

I'm not sure what type of visa his company are applying for. I guess that will have an effect on whether I can work or not. I think he will be on a business visa initially.

We've looked at all areas suggested but think we prefer The Woodlands. We just have to wait until we get over there though and take a look. Hoping to be there in next 6-8 wks. My husband...

Hubby and I are moving to Houston in about 6-8 wks from Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire. He'll be working in Humble. Can anyone help with ideas of where best to live. We have no kids to worry about....
