We landed on a Thursday at about 7 pm as well. Took us about 15 minutes to get through customs and another 10 minutes at immigration. This was because we need new pictures.

In canada you dont get a full years allowance it is pro-rata. I only know this as I am currently completing my first set of Canadian tax returns. :zzz:

I full agree with this and at the end of the day for the cost of £150 per person or there abouts is it worth the risk.
