Yes, I really think you need to contact someone. 17 weeks is too long, even if there are delays. Something seems to be wrong.

Well, I live in the US and my old/expired passport was issued in the US too, I dont know if that makes a difference.

Well at least you were intelligent enough to visit this forum before submitting your passport. If I had known before about the delays I would not have submitted my passport which expires in Jan 2012....

Yes, you have to go down to the timeline section, to actually see them mention the 10 week timeline. Its not at the top of the page. But I am assuming new applicants, will go to the timelime section...

My credit hasn't been charged yet, I am hoping by early July they will at least charge it, so that I can start counting the weeks, till I get the passport. I was planning to go to Toronto this summer...

ok, just got an update from USPS. My application was re-delivered and a person named <snip> signed for it at 3pm today.

now its just a waiting game.

ok, so I sent my passport application out to the 19th observatory circle address on Fri via USPS Express Mail. Today they went out to deliver it at 8:30am and no one was there to accept the package....
