Re: Qatar _ A few questions _ please help

The Pearl is fantastic by the way, I've considered moving to a villa but most that I've seen are pretty shoddy unless you're prepared to pay a fortune.

I've lived on the Pearl for almost 2 years as well and love it as do most of our friends.

You can get furnished 3 beds in Qanat Quartier on the pearl for 15,000 (13,000 unfurnished) a month. I...

Re: Qtel Doha

I've just had it installed today and apparently we have speeds of 62mb/s (even though we're only paying for 50mb/s). Will be interesting to see what the speeds is like at peak times though

Re: non resident landlord scheme, rental income taxation help

Hi Meow, that's a really informative and useful blog you run there. I've just read your article on non resident landlord status - can mortgage payments be offset against your personal allowance? So...

Re: Beach clubs in Doha

No it isn't. Would work out a lot cheaper by the looks of it for a family of the OP's size as well.

Re: Potential move to Doha, Qatar...

My Wife and I really enjoy it here. Despite there being flaws here (as there are in any location), people saying there is nothing to do here are just cynical idiots.

Re: QATAR, Doha: Serviced Apartments for 1 year?

The new St Regis apartments (by the Intercon) are fully furnished with free internet and start at 15k for a 2 bed and have two months free which brings the price down. Theyre really that not that far...

There are loads here but I don't think I've met any that are truly 'independent'. I can put you in touch with a good one who works for one of the brokers if you are interested?

There are quite a few decent bars here and a lot of very good restaurants. People saying otherwise are just venting.
