You may want to consider getting the Family rail pass from Virgin if traveling with kids. I have just booked tickets for myself and 2 kids from Birmingham to London first class for a total of 44gbp...

Yep, complete with ribbon and raised print, one even had the girls name on the stamp!!

The girls are friends but by no means besties, think I'll stick to my $36 it's probably what I would spend if...

Before we left the UK in 2005 we were actually looking at moving to Bishops Stortford and the other areas you mentioned. House prices look expensive here though from what I've seen on Rightmove,...

I also live in NJ and have a hankering for moving back with my tweens (almost 11 and 12 yr olds) they have been schooled here since 2007 and so worry they wouldn't get to grips with the UK...
