489 Visa Holder - Moving to another regional state

Hi All,

I have been living in SA for last 1.2 years on 489 SA Regional Visa and out of that time have completed 6 months of full time work in my occupations. So Im yet to complete 1 years of stay...

Hi sushantsohani,

I have Pakistani passport, but I applied from Kuwait.
In my case I got 7 months to make first entry to Australia.

The date of entry depends on your medical and PCC expiry...

1) Engineers Aust assessment - 27.02.2012
2) Submitted EOI - 28.09.2012
3) SA state sponsorship submitted -11.10.2012
4) Got SA Sponsorship approved - 20.12.2012...

I think health results are valid for 12 months , and visa processing for 489 visa is 6 months maximum.
I have 'nt been told by CO yet , but probably that will be next call.

It does not necessarily makes you ineligible , but it is better to apply for another state,, as there may be limited seats left and more conditions may be required to prove eligibility.

Yup. In that case you only have to select SA in your EOI. Otherwise your SA state sponsorship application will be rejected.

Once your state sponsorship is approved , you gets instant invitation to apply , as it happened to me today.

So check what state requires including IELTS score.
In your EOI u have to mention...

in case of some states, they will not sponsor you unless you mentione it in your EOI, for instance SA does not sponsor unless it is mentioned in EOI specifically.
