I think that they can't access your UK credit rating due to the DPA. As long as you have a job out here then a mortgage will be fine. I took out a credit card, spent $250 and paid it back slowly to...

We have just moved here from the UK due to higher taxes and cut of child benifit, also the major cut of jobs in the public sector :(
