I think the UK government have done a marvellous job of divide and conquer. They set one demographic against another. Takes everyone's mind off the real issues.
It's the same with the 'baby boomer'...

You have a right to benefits if you qualify.
If you haven't paid in to the system (or enough) you have no rights to a pension.

You have a legal right to benefits - end of.

Pensions and benefits are entitlements - they are both the same thing. You pay into the system, you get some form of protection.
Some people might need that protection earlier.
No one pays 25 years...

Do you mean passport and proof of address? Or is this going to be one of those situations where I need a proof of address of get a fiscal number and a fiscal number to get an address?

I've just had a quick Google and apparently a tourist or resident can apply for a fiscal number at the local Finanacas office provided they present with a passport.

And postage to Spain is cheaper than the rest of Europe too.

Try as I might I can't find a site that gives the postal tariffs in Portugal. I've tried the CTT site and the only link seems to lead to a dead page.
Does anyone have any idea where I could look?

I've managed to get the Michelin planner to work. Had to press Fastest route rather than leave it on Michelin Recommeded!

Now. It might be me - but where are the junction numbers on the Michelin...

I'm looking for the easiest route, via toll roads, from France to central Portugal. The Michelin site just won't throw up any kind of map at all....
