If you go through other immigration process like H1B visa etc, you need a sponsor. As far as green card lottery is concerned, i dont think you need it. Maybe few countries as said by Mr.Noorah.

It's better to inform about the reason for withdraw of your US citizenship application. If you dont go for interview automatically your application will get rejected.
