I've just booked with Emirates (via their website) for departure 26th Jan return into Sydney 25th Feb cost $2216. All the flights I checked were around that price.

Buy the Sydney Morning Herald on Saturday (early). There is a pull out section for housing, giving viewing times for what is available in your area.

My BP was 190/110 at my first medical and got it checked over a few weeks at GP's, she gave me betablockers...

Came to NSW 3 years ago. Was able to drive 3 months with UK licence then sit a theory test. Photo taken (terrible!) then licence issued. It's worthwhile getting a RTA Road Rules book and studying it...
