Re: ACS ANZSCO queries

Hey, you should be fine as the qualification was gained prior to the first assessment anyway. My guess is that while your 2006 diploma couldn't be considered for the old profession (2231-79), it can...

Re: Stuck in IELTS

If you were doing a math test and failed it due to 1 of 10 categories, would they let you repeat the 1 category you failed? No, you''d have to re-sit the full exam.

I understand what you're saying...

Re: Stuck in IELTS

You're not entirely correct on this. Read the Points Test FAQs (http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/pdf/points-testfaq.pdf).

Is there a new minimum English language...

Re: Stuck in IELTS

Always General.

Academic is only accepted at educational institutions, it can't be used for migration purposes.

Re: Going to Australia on a one way ticket

Yeah but it does not necessarily mean it's illegal. Illegal does not necessarily mean it's punishable.

I get your point and I don't think doing 'bad things' is good but no one is perfect.

Re: Going to Australia on a one way ticket

I just said it is possible to do it but I was not encouraging doing it and I also mentioned I would not take the risk to lie to the government and I don't encourage anyone to do so.

Perhaps...

Re: Going to Australia on a one way ticket

I agree it's a possibility.

Final warning on what? What did I say? Did you read what I wrote in the PS? I would not lie to the government. Never. It's a serious business.

You are not breaking...

Re: Taxation on UK income in Australia

I think the easiest thing is to get paid in pounds in UK while working offshore in Australia. I would not mention anything to the Australian government, though I would probably email or call them up...

Re: Going to Australia on a one way ticket

With these eTickets, it's so easy to make them up.

Once I made a fake ticket for a friend. She wanted to change the date of her IELTS test because we wanted to go to a music festival on that day....

Re: Stuck in IELTS

Hey man, thumbs up. You'll do it next time.

I did IELTS four times. I needed 7

first: 8, 8, 7, 6.5
second: 8.5, 8, 8, 6.5
third: 8, 8, 6.5, 7
fourth: 8, 7, 7.5, 7.5

We can agree I was...

Re: Australian Computer Society (ACS) Skills Assessment Review

As you're now in Priority 4 (right?) you'll have to get a new skills assessment under the new ANZSCO standard.

The application has to be based on the original skills assessment you used to apply...

Yep, it's gone. No more deadlines or timelines.

I've been living in Australia for 6 years, applied back in 2009 as well.

Not a chance. They will definitely not be finalised this year. The deadline 'end of 2011' was removed a long time ago.

My personal guess is that offshore applicants will get refunds if they can't...

Re: Being processed further

Re: Being processed further

I'm in Cat 4 now and I see the same message. It appeared when I enquired about something about a year after I submitted the application.

Re: is it a good time to apply for ACS

I really doubt they'd change the skills standard from ANZSCO to something else. The old ASCO was in place for so many years, the new ANZSCO will be in place for many years to come.
