I'm (just) SW, between downtown and 17th Avenue. I would avoid the NE too, but in general Calgary is pretty safe.

We got a Rogers PAYG SIM tonight for $5, 25c per min for the first 5 minutes and then 15c per min after that, any time. Charged it up with $20 and it's working like a champ in our UK unlocked Nokia....
