Re: L1 stamping in Bahamas

Thanks texasjan! That's exactly what I was thinking of doing, a quick trip with the family to Atlantis. My only worry was that it would take longer than a few days and I'd be stuck in the Bahamas.

Re: L1 stamping in Bahamas

Thanks CRG, I already saw that. I guess what I'm asking is how long it takes to do. My initial L1 was stamped in Switzerland and it took less than 24 hours! Does anyone know how long it might take in...

Re: Dodgey advice from an immigration attorney?

There is only an issue date and an expiration date. There is no "petition date". I have been on the L1 for just under a year.

Dodgey advice from an immigration attorney?

I am in the US on an L1A start up visa. My visa expires in a couple of months and I'm starting to speak to attorneys over here to see which one would be best for my renewal.

Anyway, during a...

Re: Ive read the stickys but........

Pete,

The number of employees of the foreign business is really quite an important issue for an L1. You don't have to be a massive company but you need to show an organizational chart with you at...

Re: Minor Overstaying VWP

Once again this forum proves to be a waste time. Thank you for your input.

Re: Minor Overstaying VWP

Meauxna; I have absolutely no desire for anyone in your "group" to endorse anything. I simply asked a question regarding the repercussions of a vwp overstay for minors, and took umbrage at the...

Re: Minor Overstaying VWP

Ian; your sanctimonious judgmental tone smacks of someone who has never had young children of their own.

Perhaps you could use your time by actually answering posters questions rather than passing...

I am leaving my kids in the US when I return for the L1 interview. During that time they will overstay their VWP. When I return they will have the L2 in their passports and we will take a trip to the...

Re: L1 approval whilst in the US on VWP

I don't think a self confessed "sanctimonious prick" is in any position to give advice on parenting.

Perhaps you should try not living up to your tag line for once.

Re: L1 approval whilst in the US on VWP

OK if not USCIS then the US embassy, either way surely no one has the authority to insist my children be in the same country as me?!

Re: L1 approval whilst in the US on VWP

Are you sure? Can anyone else verify this? It seems beyond the remit of USCIS to specify where ones children are?

Re: L1 approval whilst in the US on VWP

Sure Rene, I get that.

We already have a US nanny out here, so will make sure she is looking after the kids when we are in Europe. This is what we will say if asked at the Visa interview.

I...

Re: L1 approval whilst in the US on VWP

Ok. What if we hire a nanny to look after the kids but my Mother-in law cooks the food? Is this a federal offence?

Or would they be "disrespecting the United States and its Laws"?
