Re: AOS I-693 RFE

I'm confident your predication would have been correct Jeff. Hence I'm just going to get the medical exam done, provide what the RFE asked for and just inwardly be angry at USCIS for losing my...

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Jeffrey, yes it's a four hour round trip. But I was able to get an appointment on the same day we were heading to the city in question anyway to visit with friends.

However, I think I'll go ahead...

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Thanks Noorah. As usual, coming here for advice has helped. I'd completely neglected the InfoPass option.

My appointment is set for October 5th, so shall report back forthwith.

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Am booking an appointment right now.

Nearest office is a two hour drive from here which is nothing for the peace of mind of talking to someone face to face

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Noorah. Regarding the Infopass appointment, did you mean I would need to go to the service center in question, or just the nearest USCIS office to me?

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Yes, sorry. I did hand over the large envelope at POE of course.

I also had a sealed envelope that I sent in with the AOS/I-693 et al, which was of course from the civil surgeon who completed my...

Re: AOS I-693 RFE

Noorah. In the AOS package we sent along the sealed envelope, (which I understand contains the results of my medical and X-ray from Knightsbridge Doctors in London). Also we had a civil surgeon in...

Bit of back story first to set the scene.

- Moved to USA this year on a K1 visa
- Got married
- Received work/travel authorization card courtesy of forms I-131 and I-765
- I-485 shipped out...

Re: Another I-864 question

Well ordering those tax transcripts was a piece of cake. Furthermore you can do it online in a couple of clicks.

I've also included copies of sponsor's W2s as Jeff suggested, since it was a joint...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Great news!

Second RFE came today, but this one specifies what evidence is lacking. So in a roundabout way, the woman at USCIS who incorrectly told me to send in an I-864 for a household member...

Re: Another I-864 question

Just to clarify, does the tax transcript replace both the tax return and the W-2s? Also, do they provide for last three years, or just the most recent?

Re: AOS Approved

Same here bivlover. I'm currently in receipt of an RFE that I can't make heads or tails of, but sadly a lawyer isn't something we can afford.

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Alright. USCIS website has updated case status to say a new request for evidence is in the post. Will have to wait and see if it says same as last one. Hopefully it's more specific so we know...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

On a lighter note, I had my biometrics appointment this morning which concluded without incident. Ladies were very friendly and polite and I was in and out within 10 minutes, (though was a 2 hour...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Meauxna. It was just a heinous typo on my part. I did mean to say we had sent an I-864a.

Alright, well I'll just wait and see what they do when they get my reply back in the mail. Fingers...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Well, her being incorrect raises two points. Firstly, we were right in the first place to only send an I-864a for household member. Secondly it means that was not the reason for the RFE and thus...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Just an update for anyone interested. I called the USCIS again today and the polite lady confirmed that a household member DOES need to complete an I-864 as well as an I-864a, (we had previously...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

W2s also.

Trust me. Anything we could find mentioned in both their instructions and from other people's suggestions on here, we sent. Hence our confusion getting the RFE to begin with. If I had...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Here's a list of evidence we included for FIL.

1. Copy of Birth Certificate and ID
2. Letter from his credit union to say when the account was opened
3. Bank statements for the last two years....

Re: RFEeeeeee!

We went over the I-864 and everything else with a fine comb before we sent in our initial package. Having checked over my copies of the I-864 again just now, I'm confident that the household...

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Meauxna, you're quite right. I've been referring to my FIL as the joint sponsor since the beginning of this thread when in actual fact he is a 'household member', hence the completion of an I-864a....

Re: RFEeeeeee!

Thanks for the quick reply, and at this hour ;)

Yeah, I'm hoping that the newly sent I-864 will clean up any problems for now. I guess I just needed to write it down/say it out loud just to clear...
