Why don't you try going for State Sponsorship. You will obtain an additional 10 points plus your application will be prioritised. Just a thought.

I am aware that academic IELTS is not required by DIAC. However, if the OP wishes to redo his skills assessment as an Accountant, he will have to do the Academic IELTS.

Effective 1st July, there is no CSL. Therefore even if you apply as an Accountant and score 7 in each Academic IELTS module, you do not get any priority processing for CSL. You will have to check...

You could wait for all the state's SMPs to be released and check if your husband's profession is on their list. Both of you could also try for employers to sponsor you... it will doubly increase...

Have you already applied for GSM ? If so, you are safe and the new rules / SOL will not apply to your application. If not, you will have to wait for the SMPs to be released and are expected...

With DIAC anything is possible. They may give more than 60 points or they may keep all occupations at 60 points or they may differ some with different points or they may not have the point system...

We will have to wait to know what is in hold for us. So far only the new SOL has been released showing the occupations / ANZSCO Codes and nothing else.

DIAC does not look at the states when processing visas. They look at the type of visa the person has applied for. For now, they are processing various visas and that includes the 176 - State's...

Cool down... English is a complicated language ;) However Bermuda shorts is right as the verb 'is' is pointing to 'Points Test' with is only one 'singular'. I too make this mistake sometimes :(
