The employer route is definitely better, as an ex colleague of mine had his employer make all the first moves. He then got together with the estate agents and got it sorted very quickly...

If you have a 2 part licence, and have moved over to it from paper within the last 10 years CHECK the expiry date..

I changed my address in 2004, and note that it now expires May 2014 , as DVLA...

from the short time I was in Vallarta,( a week) most of the locals gave me the impression that we Brits are liked a lot, they know the differences in accents between us and other English speakers ..

there was a change to Uk licences 2 years ago, they now have to be "upgraded" every 10years.

They now take the photo online from your passport, providing it's not older( the passport) than 5...
