Re: Very little information about Taiwan...

I agree with this. I often visit on business and my conversational Mandarin helps me a lot when I am not with a local colleague.

Re: British citizen Wanting to move back to the UK from China.

I doubt that transferring money from a Chinese bank to a UK bank is as easy as from an Australian one (or from most other countries).

Re: Arkansas / Memphis

Re: Xi'an - Is there anybody out there?

I have seen the most foreigners in the North - Beijing, Tianjin, Dalian, as these cities have many overseas companies. Then there is also Shanghai, in the middle of the country.
I doubt a choice of...

Re: China 3 month visa

I agree, it makes sense to apply in the country where you are living.

The backpackers, however, would have been applying for a tourist visa. Very different from a work one. I know dozens of people...

Re: China 3 month visa

As long as you fill out all the information correctly, there should be no problem for your passport to be posted out to you.
I am sure my first z visa was posted back to me. I was in the UK though.

Re: What is it like working with factories in GuangZhou city and is 10 k resonable wa

The locals laugh at us, questioning whether our salaries will be enough, when they can survive with their families on much less.
However, remember, we likely will spend more.

We have different...

Re: British Passport Expiry and China Residence Permit Renewal Conflict

Must be a really cushy job, working in an Embassy.
In China, they are open 23 hours per week, (half day Friday) and you now need to make an appointment, even just to speak to someone !
