I thought it was a must requirement to show at the boarder that you have the intention to return home?

Yes we had a Statutory declaration notarized and sent letters confirming our conjugal relationship including joint bank account info, proof of address, etc, so i am hoping we already covered that...

What they are telling you is wrong.
You are not banned for life as they claim!! As you say, you can be there for up to 6 months on a UK passport anyway.
It means you cannot apply for perm residence...
