Re: Living in Al Ain

Okay, I know I'm jumping into the abyss here, but we love it in Al Ain. If you like cities and city life, maybe Al Ain isn't the place for you. But we like it here on the edge of the desert. It's...

Re: Living in Al Ain

Re: Living in Al Ain

Can any of you Kiwis out there tell me (in detail) how you got your diplomas, marriage certificates, birth certificates, etc. attested? We have some friends from New Zealand that are having trouble...

Re: Living in Al Ain

Does anyone know of a good photo development shop, maybe a Kodak store or something like that? I'm especially interested in something over by Abela's but anything of good quality will suffice.

Re: Living in Al Ain

www.witopia.com. Use the $59.99 option. Don't know what that is in the UK. It has options for sites in the USA, UK, and Hong Kong.

Re: Living in Al Ain

Mine is called Seven Star Step Up & Down Transformer ST-500. It is a 500 watt transformer. We duct taped over the 220V output to prevent accidents. If you go to Amazon and put the above...

Re: Living in Al Ain

I actually bought the converter in the USA, using Amazon and reading a bunch of reviews. Having lived in Asia for a while, I didn't want to mess with failing circuits or cheap wiring. It's a heavy...

Re: Living in Al Ain

Everything here is 220V so you'd need a bunch of converters or one huge one to service all of your electronic components that are 110V only. Even then it's risky if the converter fails or you forget...

Re: Living in Al Ain

We just moved to Al Ain from China and used MoveOne relocators. They were fantastic. If a China move was good, a move to Canada has got to be easier. Door to door service, will pack everything...

Re: Living in Al Ain

Re: Living in Al Ain

I'm worried about the China to Al Ain part rather than the other way around. :) But it sounds like a good organization. How much did they charge for your move to Thailand?
