I work in Long Beach. Some areas are nice like The Pike area down on the sea front. Lots of places to eat, bars, etc. Other parts of Long Beach can be not so nice.

Yes the Embassy said that birth certificates can be changed to show the adoptive parents as the biological parents.

Well now it's understandable why you are anxious about the travel date as you have no passport in hand right now. Still a copy of the ID page would have sufficed.

I agree that they should state more clearly the requirements they have of the US birth certificates. In reality they should state they want the US birth certificate as well as backup documentation...

Took two weeks to receive stuff once the charge was taken for me. Although in my case I didn't get a passport, instead they didn't seem to like my birth certificate. 5 weeks altogether of waiting...
