Re: Police officer transfer from uk to Canada

Gigi, do you have a source for your contention that EPS members `take home' on average $100,00 CAD p/a? To `take home' that money means AFTER tax. At a typical 35-40% tax rate that would mean that...

Re: Cops are worth as much as burger flippers

Licinius, I apologize for not giving you the attention you think you deserve. For what it's worth, other than sheer amusement, this thread isn't a high priority for me.

People will always slag...

Re: Cops are worth as much as burger flippers

I personally have never knowingly encountered a bad cop, although I sure hear about them in the news and in force bulletins. As far as for a lazy cop- they stay away from me, and I stay away from...

Re: Greater Vancouver Transit Police ????

Yup, I know a fair bit about them- I live in Vancouver (don't work here though, I work in a different province...long story). My mate is a sergeant with them. It's a bit strange to an outsider.

Re: Is there any chance of moving to a Canadian force?

You may wish to consider the Alberta Provincial Sheriff's Services. They used to be merely court security and prisoner transport, but in the last 10+ years or so, the province has been toying with...

Re: BERMUDA POLICE

What an effin' joke.

WHY the eff does the Bermuda Police *CHOOSE* to run things like this?

My cat could do a better job managing and leading the organization. And my cat, rest in peace, has...

Re: BERMUDA POLICE

Bermudez999.....thanks for the info.

All I can say is, `what a joke'.

Glad I didn't go to Bermuda after all- lying, incompetent, unapproachable `management' and I do not get along- at ALL.

Re: Cops are worth as much as burger flippers

Lawyers are just jealous of us because the general public generally respects us and in some cases adores us, while the same can't generally be said about the legal profession as a whole.

I...

Pincher, I would not count on that.

In Canada, police instructors employed by accredited government training facilities (RCMP Academy, Ontario Police College, etc.) will have Canadian...

Re: Royal Cayman Islands Police and St Helena Police

Yeah, I agree that the pay seems a little low, even if they provide the housing etc. The thing about St Helena is that it's accessible by ship only- no airfield, although I think one is in the works....
