I moved to Umina Beach 4 years with wife and daughter. We're very settled in the place and really enjoying it. I commute from Woy Woy also.
Empire Bay and St Huberts are very nice,...

Thank very much billiejoe, that definitely helps. I have heard about doctors having 'closed their books' - I wasn't able to register my daughter in Umina Medical for this reason. Not very helpful....

I've met a few people through my daughter's school, and 1 or 2 are Irish. Have also made a few friends through fishing, and neighbours etc. I wouldn't say there's a big ex pat community here,...

Yes, life is rather relaxed up here compared to Sydney. I commute each day also, although I work from home on Wed and I find that really breaks up the week. I also get to watch movies on the train...

Thanks guys. Yes had thought of the carparks. I've tried the carpark at McEvoy St Umina, but there's speed bumps, and still gets traffic at night with the dog walkers etc.
Maybe will try Deepwater...

Spots on the Central Coast for learning to drive

My missus has just got her L plates and I'm trying to find places where she can learn to drive (preferably somewhere as big as Mars with no traffic:D ).
Does anyone know any good places to start...

Hi

I have read various commentary re primary schools in the central coast area, but thought I'd start a specific thread on the Woy Woy region.
We'll be moving to Umina soon and my daughter is due...

Yes I thought Lake View could be a bit remote, particularly as my wife doesn't drive.
In general we think the beach aspect of Umina...
