Re: US retailers for UK keyboards?

Because I'd like to have it with me when I return to the UK permanently in June (when my student visa expires).
The only other computers I use are college systems and I do my work on my own system,...

Re: US retailers for UK keyboards?

Yeah, that was my first thought. There's subtle differences in shape between rows on most keyboards, so that you can jumble up letters but if you try and switch in a number, or something from an F...

Re: US retailers for UK keyboards?

Yup, searched through carefully. The one or two which claim to be UK keyboards are only saying that because the " and @ are the other way around. Unfortunately they're actually international...

US retailers for UK keyboards?

Hi folks.

I've been unable to get a UK spec computer keyboard in the USA, and all the UK retailers I've tried online won't ship to the USA. Getting family back home to post, with the dimensions...

Re: Cost of prescription meds

Yeah, it's exchange, though I don't yet know where so the plans they put in place will differ.

The main thing at the moment, for me, isn't the logistics of how to do it, but purely the raw cost if...

Re: Cost of prescription meds

Yeah, did it based on needing 300/60s at 6 pills a day on average (taking 500/50s now so it's the closest available). 14 months, average 30 days a month (in truth slightly over) is 2520 pills or more...

Re: Cost of prescription meds

Not yet. I can't arrange that until early 2011, because I won't know which college I'm going to, ergo which state, and whether the college requires I buy theirs or not.

Re: Cost of prescription meds

Yeah, I suspected my cocodamol (tylenol with codeine) would be restricted. That alone is $4500 based on that net pharmacy linked above (assuming the doctor there agrees to prescribe).

The rest is...

Cost of prescription meds

Hi there.

I'm due to spend around 14-15 months in the US beginning next summer. There's a kinda hefty list of stuff I get on prescription in the UK, and I'm told that having it posted over in...

Any restrictions on entering the US when under an insolvency agreement?

Hi.

Are there any restrictions on entry to the USA on a student visa if presently under a "Debt Relief Order" (like bankruptcy-lite) or full-blown undischarged bankrupt?

Any info, or pointers...

Re: Year in the US (student)

More on the car side of things - so I can work out the sort of money I'll need for an old banger...

Over here I can get hold of a pretty decent motor for about a grand, i.e. an 11yr old Audi A4...

Re: Year in the US (student)

Nope, it's Williamsburg.

I'll drop you the location by private message, with the options I have in the US.

I'm a little superstitious and until I'm behind my desk in September I won't believe...

Re: Year in the US (student)

Interesting points you both raise.

It had been a major factor in my school selection here in the UK (others had equally good departments but the school rep or even city rep is low, so I passed...

Re: Year in the US (student)

Really?

I haven't the first clue about reputations of places :D
(Well, other than the ones they stick in movies to suggest someone is brilliant and/or rich, e.g. Harvard, Yale etc).

Re: Year in the US (student)

Thanks again, to you both.

Caleyjag, the options are pretty limited in some regards - it's the campuses on the list that given year, and while some like UEA and Hull (I'm turning them both down...

Re: Year in the US (student)

Fortunately it's a well organised programme. The most I'll ever pay is the same as my UK fee for the year, and direct to my home institution, whether a reciprocal student comes or not (so £3223 in my...

Re: Year in the US (student)

Thanks for responding! :)

It's sort of an exchange programme if the partner campus has anyone to come over to the UK, but if none come over I suppose it's just a straight-out year abroad taking...

Year in the US (student)

This is WELL in advance, but I need to get an idea what I can and can't do, and therefore need to bother financing/saving for over the next 2 years.

So - Circumstances are that I'm mature...
