No, we didn't ask then. I presumed it would be in the low hundreds, rather than >Â£1000 (including vat and insurance!).

That is exactly what I was afraid of.... My DH nearly fell off the chair when we found out how much our new car insurances will cost us with zero NCB, especially as he had more than 10 years NCB...
